The third and final newsletter of the Erasmus+ project Happiness in Practice: Positive Psychology & Community Resilience is now available in English, Italian, Spanish and French.

As the project comes to an end, this publication looks back at the activities carried out between April and July 2026 and presents the main results, resources and experiences developed through the cooperation between the partner organisations in Italy, Spain and Belgium.

What will you find in this final newsletter?

The newsletter presents the three Local Happiness Workshops organised during the final phase of the project:

  • In Valencia, participants explored the relationship between historical memory, cultural heritage, community identity and collective well-being.

  • In Modena, an urban nature experience invited participants to practise observation, breathing and mindful connection in the Garden of Health and Wellbeing.

  • In Belgium, an online workshop addressed emotional well-being, positive psychology, resilience, social inclusion and community participation.

The publication also introduces the project’s main practical resources.

The Happiness Toolkit is a 66-page, open-access guide containing seven tools for promoting emotional awareness, listening and community resilience in adult education. These include Laughter Yoga, the Empathy Circle, the Red Thread, positive psychology practices, everyday micro-practices and the Community Emotional Map.

The newsletter takes a closer look at the Community Emotional Map, a participatory methodology that helps groups identify emotional needs, supportive relationships, community resources, existing tensions and opportunities for collective care and action.

Readers can also learn about the European Community of Practice, an open and multilingual space where educators, facilitators, social and cultural professionals, associations and other interested people can exchange experiences, share applications of the project tools and develop future collaborations.

A final conference connecting people across Europe

The newsletter also shares the highlights of the Final European Conference, which attracted 122 registered participants.

The event brought together educators, facilitators, students, volunteers and professionals in psychology, social work and non-formal education. Participants from several European countries exchanged experiences related to resilience, inclusion, vulnerable young people, positive psychology, autobiographical storytelling, Empathy Circles, theatre and Laughter Yoga.

More than a presentation of results, the conference became a space for dialogue, mutual learning and connection among people committed to creating more inclusive, supportive and resilient communities.

The project ends, but its legacy continues

This is the final newsletter because Happiness in Practice is reaching the end of its implementation period. However, the knowledge, methodologies and relationships created during the project will remain available.

The Happiness Toolkit, the Community Emotional Map, the Calendar of Happiness, the European Community of Practice and the other project materials can continue to be used, shared and adapted in new educational, cultural and community settings.

The project ends, but its tools, learning and connections will continue to foster well-being, participation and community resilience.
