Hosted by European Social Art (ESA), this creative residency, taking place from 23 to 25 March 2026 in Valencia, explores the connections between art, culture, health, and well-being through participatory and reflective practices.
The activities combine literature, artistic activities, dialogue circles, and cultural visits to foster empathy, community resilience, and emotional awareness.
Participants engage in collective reflection and co-creation, exchanging experiences on how artistic and cultural approaches can support happiness, inclusion, and well-being in adult education and community contexts.
The residency also serves as a transnational working space for project partners, strengthening collaboration and preparing the next phase of local actions and community-based initiatives.
Local Happiness Workshops

Following the workshops in Modena and Valencia, local workshops were carried out in Spain , Italy and Belgium targeting adults aged 35 to 60. These sessions offered accessible tools from Positive Psychology, Laughter Yoga and Empathy practices to reduce stress, improve self-awareness and strengthen social connection.
The local workshops made it possible to apply the project methodologies in specific community contexts, promoting happiness, inclusion, emotional well-being and social connection among participants.
These local actions consolidated the learning outcomes of the transnational workshops and strengthened collaboration among the partners, bringing the practice of happiness to the participating communities.
Community of Practice (CoP)

The Community of Practice is an online space hosted on the Happiness in Practice website, created to connect educators, facilitators, adult learners, practitioners and organisations interested in well-being, positive psychology and community resilience.
It offers members a shared environment to exchange experiences, tools, reflections and practices related to emotional awareness, happiness in everyday life, participatory education and community-based work. Through posts, dialogue and peer exchange, the Community of Practice supports mutual learning and the circulation of knowledge developed within the project.
To join, participants can request access through the Community page. Once approved and onboarded, they can read posts, share ideas, connect with other members and take part in the activities of the community.
The Community of Practice is designed to help Happiness in Practice grow beyond individual workshops, becoming a living space for shared learning, collaboration and support across Europe.
Happiness Toolkit

The Happiness Toolkit is an open-access digital resource that brings together the methodological framework, practical activities, facilitation guidance and field learnings developed within the Happiness in Practice project.
The Toolkit offers educators, facilitators and community organizations a structured set of resources to design and adapt educational, preventive and non-therapeutic processes focused on adult well-being, emotional awareness and community resilience.
Inside, users will find practical tools such as Laughter Yoga, the Circle of Empathy, The Door, the Red Thread, Positive Psychology practices, everyday well-being micro-practices and the Community Emotional Map. It also includes session planning models, ethical facilitation guidelines, adaptation recommendations, work templates and appendices for applying the approach in different educational, cultural and community contexts.
It is designed to inspire educators and organizations across Europe to apply the Happiness in Practice model in their own communities.
